  • Soubattra DANASSÉGARANE

    Philosophy Teacher, Artist, PhD Candidate

    Philosophy teacher and artist, currently pursuing a PhD in philosophy of language and identity. A stomach cancer survivor, she works to break the taboos surrounding the disease, especially within the Tamil community. Through art (comics, exhibitions), she gives visibility to vulnerable people's stories and highlights elders often forgotten.

  • Roshan GNANESWARAN

    Master in Computer Science

    Graduated in computer science, Roshan joined Arokiyam’s team by conviction.He believes that access to health information is a key issue in the Tamil community and believes that better awareness can lead to real change.

  • Anamiga JOSEPH

    Tamil-French Interpreter, Transcultural Mediator

    Translator and consultant, she ensures the linguistic and cultural link, facilitating communication and accessibility of information for all.

  • Nirusha NATKUNARAJAH

    International Law Student, Activist

    International law student, Nirusha identifies as an activist. She joined this project because she believes it is her duty to protect and inform Tamil elders about their health rights. She aims to highlight health issues often overlooked in the system.

    Pharmacy student, Larissa is committed to making healthcare accessible and understandable. Through outreach in the Tamil community, she has seen how clear communication can prevent fear and delays in treatment.

    Political science student specialized in conflict studies, Suvetha is dedicated to ensuring healthcare access for all communities, especially those affected by discrimination. She also focuses on the link between physical pain and mental health.

    Master's Student in Social Innovation Management, Special Needs Educator

    Social innovation management student and special needs educator, Abisana noticed the lack of health awareness in her community. Her work with children and Tamil adults revealed the long-term effects of neglected health.

    Cardiovascular Research Scientist, Founder of Arokiyam

    Researcher in age-related cardiovascular diseases, Thulaciga has observed healthcare inequities, especially affecting women. She founded Arokiyam and the Tamil Health Awareness Day to reduce these disparities.
